Because the weather yesterday was heavenly (or shall I say more heavenly than usual?), my son William and I went to Rousay and found yet more stunning Orkney beauty. There was something stunning to photograph wherever I pointed the camera, so we were grateful to find, some way down a path over a gorgeous beach where seals were bobbing around in the sea, THE official place from which to take the very best view on Rousay. I can't imagine the difficulties the community had arguing over where to put it! So here it is: Though some might disagree (and that includes me — see slideshow below) this is clearly and officially the view to find on Rousay😃😃😃.. Rousay, a tiny and breathtakingly beautiful island (pop. 200), is an easy and fun day-trip from the Creel to see amazing archeological sights and nature at its purest. Here is a little photo reportage on our trip yesterday We had a lovely beer and a snack, along with a friendly chat, at the Pier Bar & Shop, just above the pier where the ferry comes in. Highly recommended.
