I was parking in Kirkwall the other day in a pay-and-display car park and, while manipulating the sticky ticket to put it up in my windscreen, was a bit surprised to find that our traffic wardens obviously take their job very seriously indeed (while offenders are clearly risking life and limb). This is what it said on the back of my ticket: I breathed a sigh of relief when I moved my finger and found that I wasn't being threatened with my life for overstaying my alloted time, but rather invited to use a seat belt.
